Hastamat opens new production hall in Lahnau

21.11.2025, Lahnau

Project for the future realised

On 21 November, Hastamat celebrated the inauguration of a new production hall, together with around 250 guests. With the building which occupies more than 2,200 square metres, the machine and plant manufacturer increases its site in Lahnau – and optimises its production for global packaging solutions.

Olaf Piepenbrock, Executive Partner of Hastamat's parent company Piepenbrock, welcomed the employees with their families and guests from the world of politics and the economy to the production hall. "The new building is a visible sign of corporate courage, technological expertise and the Lahnau location. The new build provides state-of-the-art workstations at which workers can feel at ease, flourish and develop. I look forward to many new projects, strong ideas and a continued successful future for Hastamat". As a symbolic gesture, Piepenbrock handed over a key to Managing Director Michael Schulze.

In guided tours around the offices and meeting rooms in the new build, the production halls and the technical centre, the guests discovered new rooms and were given insight into the product range and selected projects. The children in attendance were able to blow off steam playing football darts and on a bouncy castle. After a joint meal with magic act and the honours for long-serving employees, the evening came to an end with musical accompaniment.

Sustainable construction requires conviction

The new building not only meets the requirements for class 40 of the Energy Efficiency House standard. It also emphasises the active stance of responsibility of Hastamat and the entire Piepenbrock business group when it comes to the environment and future generations. "With a modern heat pump, a highly efficient ventilation system and extensive LED technology, we can lower the CO₂ emissions notably. And with a new photovoltaic system, we produce a large part of our electricity requirement ourselves", says Schulze. Together with the existing photovoltaic system, Hastamat achieves a total output of more than 600 kilowatt peak.
